I keep asking myself, "Why can't WayHome be forever (insert crying emoji)?" I am seriously feeling so bummed out that it is over. I hate that fun things always have to come to an end. All I wanna be doing is enjoying amazing live music with my WayHomies. I already have next years festival marked in my calendar (Psssttt, they have released a Save the Date so make sure you mark yours too: July 22, 23, 24)
It was seriously one of the best times. Everything from camping, to the food to the live performances, it was all an 11 out of 10...hell, a 23873487 out of 10. Everyone was so friendly and in the best of moods. The vibe of the campgrounds were so chill and relaxed. Camping with thousands and thousands of people around you makes the experience, in my opinion. The art installations were amazing, the food vendors were delicious (my WayHomies and I got way too excited about all the options, it was overwhelming at times), and the decor was so on point (I am obsessed with the flags and 90% of my pictures are of them #sueme). I always love the energy on the first day of the festival before people get too hungover and burnt. On Saturday we all moved a little slower and were a tiny bit more red. By Sunday most were too hungover to be outside in the crazy heat and too red to sit out in the sun. That is the beauty of these types of festivals.
The bands were seriously top-notch. There were so many artists on my must see list that I got to check off, like Hozier, Vance Joy, Alt-J, Future Islands...the list goes on. Run the Jewels were so fun too. I also got to see bands I've already seen and fell in love with them again. One of the biggest highlights was when Broken Social Scene took over Passion Pit's spot. I have been dreaming of seeing them for years and it finally happened. Not going to lie, as the fireworks went off, I turned to my siblings and started crying...so embarrassing but I was overwhelmed with happiness haha. It was definitely a moment I will never forget...because my sister decided to tape me while breaking down. Thanks Sis!
WayHome, you freaking killed it and I am already counting down the days until next year (359, to be precise). If you didn't get a chance to check it, I would seriously advise you to join the fun next year. You will not regret it.
